2025/2 Cantonese Conversation Class
The affordable Cantonese class, at $50 per lesson, is taught by a volunteer Cantonese teacher. It aims to help newcomers anf struggling foreigners in Hong Kong integrate into society by developing essential language skills and cultural understanding. Participants learn practical communication for daily situations in a supportive environment, fostering community connections and confidence. The programme offers flexible scheduling and resources to aid in navigating local services, making it easier for newcomers to feel at home.

2025/2 Global Perspectives Dialogue (GPD)
Immerse students in cultural experiences through authentic interactions with international guests by bringing international guests into schools. The objectives include enhancing understanding of diverse lifestyles and cultures, fostering empathy for immigrants and emigrants, and encouraging critical thinking about Hong Kong and Chinese cultures. Additionally, the workshop prepares students for a globalised world by developing cultural awareness, stimulating creative use of English, and building confidence in their speaking skills. Through 15 sessions, more than 450 students engaged in conversations, gaining valuable insights and broadening their perspectives.

2023/6 Credit Suisse: Greater Bay Area Fintech Talent Initiative
Increase Fintech Talent Initiative’s awareness of the important role of Hong Kong in the Greater Bay Area and develop the knowledge and skills of students on the financial technology ecosystem. Through 2 training programmes, 30 student participants can enhance their global competitiveness through connecting and having dialogues with mentors from leading global financial services companies and understanding what Fintech companies are looking for during recruitment and nurture them to be future financial technology talent.

2023/6 FIVB Volleyball Nations League Hong Kong 2023 Jockey Club Community Volleyball Programme – International “8 Forms” Sports Booth Activity

Students and underprivileged groups will have the chance to better understand the game of volleyball and experience the excitement of the VNLHK2023. The programme extends invitations to students to manage ‘Eight International Sports Booth’, a country-themed game booth at the Piazza during the tournament, with the aim of promoting sport for all and enhancing public interest in volleyball. BBA hosted one of the booths for 7 days.

2023/1 Public Human Library Workshop with Hunter Bookstore
Foster understanding and empathy by connecting participants with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Human Library guests shared personal stories that highlight themes of love and peace, allowing attendees to gain unique insights into different cultures and perspectives. The workshop seeks to create an interactive platform where participants can engage in meaningful conversations about romantic relationships and the socio-political challenges faced in their countries. Ultimately, the workshop encourages participants to confront their own assumptions and broaden their global awareness through the power of storytelling.

  • 2022/8 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals Leadership Training 3.0
    (聯合國永續發展目標領袖訓練 3.0)
    Building on the previous success of earlier iterations by introducing an enhanced curriculum that reflects the latest trends in sustainability and global challenges. It incorporates a greater focus on technology, deeper community engagement through hands-on projects, and stronger networking opportunities among 25 school-nominated student participants and experts. Additionally, the programme emphasises robust impact measurement methodologies and promotes diversity and inclusion, ensuring a wide range of perspectives in sustainability discussions. These improvements aim to better equip participants to lead effective initiatives in a rapidly evolving landscape.

  • 2022/8 Computer Skills Camp

    Provide participants with essential computer skills, including proficiency in software applications (like Microsoft Office, Google Workspace) and basic programming. Facilitate practical exercises and projects that allow participants to apply their skills in real-world scenarios.

  • 2022/7 Thomas Global Citizen Cultural Innovation Scholarship Scheme
    Support higher education students who demonstrate strong academic performance and a commitment to promoting intercultural understanding and cultural preservation through innovative ideas. The scholarship provides a $12,000 HKD grant to enable self-initiated projects, internships, or explorations that contribute to societal improvement. The scheme seeks to empower Thomas Scholars to pursue their passions for a more innovative and harmonious society in the context of cultural diversity.
  • 2022/3 Minecraft coding tutorial class
    Students learn basic programming concepts within Minecraft. – Students improve their Cantonese language skills. – Students participate in a themed game focused on “多元共融” (diversity and inclusion). Students experience an online programming environment.

  • 2022/3 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals Leadership Training 2.0

    The programme empowers participants to drive sustainable development initiatives by enhancing their understanding of the 17 SDGs and cultivating essential leadership skills. The programme provides practical strategies to 30 students for implementing sustainable practices, fosters collaboration among participants for shared learning, and teaches impact measurement methods to assess the effectiveness of initiatives. Overall, it aims to develop a new generation of leaders dedicated to promoting sustainability and addressing global challenges.
  • 2022/3 Zero Experience Learning Programming Language
    (零經驗學程式語言)
    A comprehensive introduction to programming for individuals with no prior experience. Its primary objective is to demystify coding concepts and equip participants with foundational skills in key programming languages. Through hands-on exercises and practical projects, the programme fosters problem-solving abilities and critical thinking, enabling learners to build confidence in their coding skills. Additionally, it seeks to create a supportive learning environment that encourages collaboration and peer-to-peer learning, ultimately preparing participants for further studies or careers in technology and software development.

  • 2022/1 Jyutping: Cantonese Class

    In partnership with HamBaangLaang and Inter Cultural Education Hong Kong, Jyutping aims to enhance participants’ Cantonese language skills while fostering cultural appreciation. The class hosted 7 groups of foreign learners who are matched with locals buddies. Participants include Ethnic Minorities, refugees, and international university students. The objectives include exploring Hong Kong and Asian cultures through storytelling and interactive activities, providing training on effective teaching materials for early Cantonese learners, building a supportive community for language exchange, and promoting connections among diverse individuals within local and international communities.
